In the German town of Florstadt in the state of Hesse, the Promobot robot has begun work in a children’s park. The theme of the children’s park is prehistoric, the era of the dinosaurs. The robot is located in the waiting area. It performs several functions: communicating with visitors, consulting on dinopark exhibits and giving guided tours. For the project, the robot has studied all the exhibits in the park. It is now an expert on prehistoric animals.

A tour guide robot was a great solution for workflow automation. The worker becomes a valuable exhibit that attracts the attention of children and adults. Visitors are eager to “get to know” a new member of staff and enjoy this tour format. The robot in our park became the first robot guide in Germany! — says Johannes Kais, the administrator of the children’s park.

In May 2022, a humanoid robot created by the company Promobot began work at Action to Action’s business centre in Dubai, UAE. The robot works as an administrator, greeting guests and answering questions.

The robot is a fully anthropomorphic mechanism. It mimics a person’s emotions: it moves its eyes, eyebrows, lips and other “muscles”, communicates and answers the questions. The technology developed at Promobot, along with its own patented design, makes it possible to reproduce more than 600 variations of human microexpressions. Promobot has also used its technology to create artificial skin.

“Our super mission is to break the barrier of human-machine interaction. A year ago, we received scientific confirmation of our hypothesis. We conducted a study of social attitudes towards robots – in the environment of multifunctional centers. The results surprised even us. It turned out that the robot received the most positive feedback from customers. That is, the ideal formula for service delivery is human appearance plus robot scripted communication. A human will never talk like a robot, but a robot that looks like a human is just around the corner. We are heading in the right direction” –  says Aleksei Yuzhakov, Promobot Corporation Chairman.

The standard appearance of the robot was based on the image of Promobot’s chairman of the board. But to localize and adapt the robot to local users, it was supplemented with elements of local color. For instance, the robot wore a kufi, a headscarf that is an integral part of men’s wardrobe in Arab countries, and the robot wore a dishdasha, a traditional long-sleeved men’s shirt.

The service robot Promobot began work at the Abu Dhabi police office in June 2020. After a year of operation, police management decided to formally incorporate the robot into the facility’s infrastructure and further scale the experience to other parts of the UAE.

The robot’s duties are as follows: patrolling, CCTV-monitoring, police officers’ surveillance, temperature measurement and policing. According to the developers, Promobot is the only service robot in the world that speaks Arabic.

“During the year, we tested and refined all systems and internal integration of the robot into the site infrastructure. Finally, we were pleased with the result. The robot does help relieve police officers from routine patrol work and limits human contact during the COVID-19 pandemic. Police officers are always subject to critical decisions, and we cannot allow their work to be influenced by external factors. Promobot is a real catch for every airport, where millions of foreign tourists and jaded passengers wait for their flights. We have felt it 4 years ago when our partnership with Promobot started. We lease robots and one of them, the Robot-assistant, operated at the Istanbul Airport.

With the special device the robots can read tickets, speak in English and Turkish, recommend how to deal while pandemic time and announce the airport timetable.

In the case of Promobot, we are sure the robots facilitate customer service, raise the positive trend, loyalty, and attract new clients. Further the owners should expand the robot application.

In the UAE we were focused on searching for attractive startups, and we would like their products to be shown to foreign partners. Due to one of the founders of Promobot company, Alexey Yuzhakov, in 2014, in Dubai it turned out to come to an agreement on the supply of Perm robots to the southern country.

We have sold 5 robots so far, and we are also deeply involved in the business of renting out robots. Promobot robots were appreciated a lot by the Dubai residents, the robots welcomed and amused visitors. We even managed the robots to be programmed with performing choreography.
