Promobot, a manufacturer of autonomous service robots, has unveiled a new version of the humanoid robot, the Robo-C Companion. It mimics human emotions: it can move its eyes, eyebrows, lips and other “muscles”, communicate and answer questions. The technology developed at Promobot, as well as its own patented design, makes it possible to reproduce more than 600 microexpresions. For the first time, the robot will be unveiled at the Gitex 2022 international high-tech exhibition.
To maintain the dialogue, the robots use in-house development, the Promobot Nested Chat Dialogue Platform. The platform understands text and spoken language, extracting relevant information and providing a native response. This feature allows the solution to be used in any device with speakers for audio playback as well as a microphone for speech recognition. According to its creators, the Robo-C humanoid droids are in high demand in the Middle East. The Gitex 2022 exhibition will attract new partners.
Since 2015, we have been developing dialogue systems and communication tools between robots and humans. In the course of our work, we have often received requests from banks, major retailers, government organizations and small businesses to use our developments on their online resources to communicate with users. Now, we have finally prepared this solution for use and are actively bringing it to the market today. According to the developers, the companion robot can be useful for elderly users for preventive purposes. The robot’s dialogue platform allows for a dialogue with an interlocutor, which can not only entertain an elderly interlocutor, but also have a preventive effect on people with Parkinson’s disease. In addition to older people, the development can also be useful for communicating with younger users. The robot can keep an eye on your child, hold a natural conversation with him, tell stories, respond to his actions and connect to any home devices.
