The robot speaks several languages.
The Maharishi Vidya Mandir Secondary School in Chennai, India, will start studying service robotics together with the robot Promobot. The robot will teach children several disciplines simultaneously and act as a “live” laboratory stand as part of additional education lessons.
The Promobot V. 4 robot is a service robot for working in public places. The robot can work as a consultant, administrator, guide, or airport employee. Based on the promobot, students will study both programming, electronics, and mechatronics. The program includes 6 laboratory works.
«The peculiarity of studying robotics with a promobot is that it is an active robot working today in 42 countries of the world. Children will learn about the work of artificial intelligence using a living example, not virtual models. Children will develop entire projects — and any successful solution can get from the school laboratory directly to our developers, and then appear on the robot, for example, in the National Bank of Oman, “says Oleg Kivokurtsev, the CBDO of Promobot.
Students will learn how to create and program robots to help people perform various tasks: from processing requests in banks to delivering goods. For that children will get acquainted with robot control, face recognition, scenarios of communication between people and robots, human-machine interaction on the example of the latest Promobot model.
For Promobot, this is the first experience of cooperation with educational institutions from India. The project started in 2020, but due to the pandemic, the introduction of the robot had to be postponed indefinitely. Due to the removal of restrictions in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, the school management decided to resume classes and connect a robot to them.
