On the first day of the removal of covid restrictions, robot met employees of the corporation’s head office and informed them about anti-covid measures and innovations of the organization
Service robot Promobot, created by the company of the same name, has started working in the office of the Kuwait Oil Corporation. According to the idea of the corporation’s management, the robot should meet and greet employees and cheer them up. The Promobot can communicate in English and Arabic. According to the developers, this droid is the only service robot in the world that speaks Arabic.
In addition to these functions, Promobot can also keep a conversation going, answer questions, and inform employees about anti-covid measures and innovations of the organization. The robot travels between the objects of the hall with the help of special sensors: they allow the robot to “see” any obstacles and calmly go around them.
“This is a landmark project for Promobot since it was prepared with our foreign partners throughout the lockdown when the organization’s office had not yet started working,” said Oleg Kivokurtsev, the CBDO of Promobot. – “Representatives of the oil corporation considered many options for such robots. Our robot speaks Arabic well, can integrate with third-party systems and services, and has the highest speech recognition rate. But the most important thing is that it is more affordable in comparison with competitors since the entire production cycle is concentrated in Perm, and not in different countries, as with competitors.”
For the effective performance of the robot’s duties, the creators, together with the local integrator Kiran Smart, have developed a special linguistic database that contains several thousand questions and answers and a facial recognition system. This allows the robot to give the right recommendations, tell the latest news of the corporation, and also greet managers by name.
More than 30 Promobot robots are already working in the Middle East, in such countries as the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman. For example, in the world’s largest shopping center, Dubai Mall, clinics, banks, schools, and police stations.
Promobot was founded in 2015 in Perm. Today, Promobot is the largest manufacturer of autonomous service robots in Europe. Promobots work in 43 countries as assistants, greeters, managers, assessors, and concierges, assisting and performing various workplace tasks. Promobot robots work in banks, Museum of Contemporary History, civil service offices, Dubai Mall, BWI Airport, and other locations worldwide.
